Contest Name - Viruksham: Design of Centenary Logo for PSG & Sons’ Charities
Contest Name – Muthirai: Design of Platinum Jubilee Logo for PSG College of Technology
The Competition is open to all the college students across India
Design for each institution (Trust & Institution) under the two Contests have to be submitted separately in the portal at https://platinum.psgtech.ac.in/ . You may participate in any one or both the logo designs.
Team size: The submission could be done as an individual or as a team. In case of a team, it should have a Team Lead , who will act as PoC for the contest. The team size may be limited to 4 members. The submission should include their name, institute‘s name & contact details of the PoC(email ID, phone number, alternate phone number and address). It is mandatory that all the participants should be from the SAME INSTITUTION. A Bona fide Certificate( Click here to download Bona fide Certificate Template ) , duly attested by the respective Head of the Institution/ Head of the Department/ Dean/ Chairperson of the Department should be submitted along with the design. Entries without Bona fide Certificate will not be accepted.
All entries must be submitted through the submission portal at https://platinum.psgtech.ac.in/ . Entries submitted through any other medium/ mode would not be considered for evaluation.
Each entry should be accompanied by a Concept Note with a brief explanation of the design (approximately 150-200 words) that tells how best it symbolizes the ethos of the two organizations.
Deadline: The last date for submission: 26 March 2025. Please check https://platinum.psgtech.ac.in/ for the updates on the submission deadline.
Entries submitted after the last date of submission shall not be considered for the competition.
The winner of the competition is required to submit the design in an editable and open file format.
Format: The logo should be submitted in digital format as high-resolution image files (e.g., .PNG, .JPG, .BMP, .TIFF).
Resolution - Resolution should be a minimum of 1000 X 1000 pixels for display screens and 300 dpi on print. The maximum file size allowed is 5 MB
All fonts should be converted to outlines/curves.
The digital file should look clean (not pixelated or bit-mapped) when it is zoomed.
It should look good in black and white, as well as in color, and maintain legibility even in small sizes.
The Logo should be designed in color.
Multi-purpose Adaptability: Design should be used across various formats and contexts (digital, print, merchandise), and be easily scalable without losing visual impact or clarity
Usage Scenarios:The logos will be widely used across, but are not limited to, the usage:
Participants should not imprint or watermark logo design.
The winner of the competition is required to submit the Design files in vector format.
The winning designs of the two logos would be the intellectual property of the PSG & Sons’ Charities / PSG College of Technology respectively, and the winner cannot exercise any right over it in future. The prize-winning logo is meant to be used by the Trust and the Institution for branding and display purposes and also for any other use, as may be deemed appropriate, for the initiative
There would be no constraints on PSG & Sons’ Charities and PSG College of Technology to adopt the logo that is judged the winner. Also, all rights to modify the logos would be with PSG & Sons’ Charities and PSG College of Technology.
The logo must not contain any provocative, objectionable or inappropriate content.
Only ONE entry per team per Contest would be considered.
Please note that the logo designs should not violate any provision of the Indian Copyright Act, 1957. Neither the PSG & Sons’ Charities nor PSG College of Technology bear any responsibility for copyright violations or infringements of intellectual property carried out by the participants. The design of the logo /motto must not infringe on the Intellectual Property Rights of any third party.
The design must be original. Entries with high visual similarity / AI generated or assisted content would be summarily rejected and such submissions will be disqualified without notice.
PSG & Sons’ Charities and PSG College of Technology reserve the right to cancel or amend all or any part of the Contest and / or the Terms & Conditions/ Technical Parameters/ Evaluation Criteria. However, any changes to the Terms & Conditions/ Technical Parameters/ Evaluation Criteria, or Cancellation of the Contest, will be updated/ posted on https://platinum.psgtech.ac.in/ . It is the responsibility of the participants to keep themselves informed about any changes from regularly visiting to https://platinum.psgtech.ac.in/.
The responsibility to comply with the guidelines and other conditions fully lies with the participant and PSG & Sons’ Charities and PSG College of Technology shall not be liable for any dispute raised by any third party.
The logo designs should be distinct and visual similarity with existing branding materials / logos should be NIL.
All the entries received would be evaluated in a BLIND FOLDED manner by a jury panel consisting of highly reputed design experts.
The designs will be judged based on their visual appeal, creativity, simplicity and relevance to the institutions' missions. The decision of the selection committee would be final, binding on all the contestants and no clarifications would be issued to any participants for any of their decisions.
Shortlisted teams have to participate in the finale in-person only. Accommodation will be provided by the host institute.
At any state of evaluation, if an entry is found to violate the guidelines, the entry will be removed from evaluation process without giving any intimation.
The disqualified entries shall not be used neither by the PSG & Sons’ Charities nor PSG College of Technology for any purpose and the institutions shall have no intellectual rights over the same. Any legal proceedings arising out of the competition/ its entries/ winners shall be subject to local jurisdiction of Tamilnadu.
A whooping cash prize of ₹50000 (Rupees Fifty Thousand only) would be awarded for the winning logo under each contest, namely Viruksham and Muthirai. Additionally, the winning logos will be used in the branding materials. Winners will also be awarded a Certificate in recognition of their achievements. This is a great opportunity for designers to showcase their skills while contributing to a historic moment for both organizations.
